The Unwanted Son: Khanah'to Rabntah was the second son of Khanah Rabntah and Tael'ir Jinjahl... when Khanah very much wanted a second daughter. He spent much of his young life in misery, constantly being belittled and abused by the mother who never wanted him, never loved him, never cared for him, and it scarred him with a self-image that never fully healed. His father and his older brother smuggled him away when he was 16, and after a brief explanation as to why, he was alone, lost, wandering.Second Sight: Khanah'to quickly learned that his ability to notice tiny details served him well as he grew up. At first he noticed when he could get away with simple, petty thievery, but then learned that there were those who would pay good money for the things that he observed. He learned to blend in, to be uninteresting, to keep out of sight and out of mind; after all, people don't raise their defenses when they don't perceive a threat. For years he did what he needed to survive, robbing from people who didn't need their riches to give to those who did (mostly himself). It was only when he fell in love the first time that he realized that things needed to change; he confessed his feelings, she said "that's nice", and he never saw her again.There's Gold In His Wounds: Depressed, dismayed, and demoralized, Khan wandered and lost himself in his vices until he started meeting other Keepers of the Moon-- especially those who taught him that the things his mother did were wrong. Learning of the art of kintsugi, he felt the concept resonate with him: the things he'd suffered in the past didn't forever break him, but gave him a beauty in his story. He overcame.Longing For Home: Khanah'to strives to find a place he calls home. He's been curious about what life in the Shroud might be like. He's curious about what a "normal" "home" feels like. He's desperate for a place where he feels he truly belongs.

  Desert Duelist    : Mercenary Work, Bodyguard Work, Adventuring, and Treasure HuntingKhanah'to has a reputation for his work as a bodyguard and monster-slayer. It's highly likely that you might have seen him out in the field if you've been on any recent adventures. He always tends to prefer to work alone, but he isn't above asking for help if a job is particularly difficult. Maybe you need to hire him to escort someone. Maybe you're working with him on a bigger job.  Gold Saucer Gambler    : Triple Triad, Doman Mahjong, Chocobo Racing, and other games of chanceKhan is a card-carrying regular at the Manderville Gold Saucer, and absolutely adores the games there. If you're a regular there, there's a good chance that you've seen him there with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He's happy to trade stories, play some Mahjong, or do a little gambling on the side-- but be good to the staff there, or he'll be real quick to call you out for being a jerk.  Incognito Informant    : Information Brokering, Investigative Work, and Careful ReconnaissanceWhile Khanah'to enjoys being seen, sometimes he knows just how not to be seen. He knows how to get into places that people ordinarily shouldn't, and those who are particularly close to him or have earned his trust know that they can count on him to not make a scene... or even be seen in the first place. Just ask Lola how easy it was for him to steal back a Goobbue lamp.
